During the 31st final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, for the fourteenth time, members of Student Science Club "Inwestor", together with the community of Lodz, created a huge heart made of gold coins in the Manufaktura Shopping Centre in Lodz. This year the coins weighed as much as 5.5 tonnes. Students from the Faculty of Economics and Sociology who organised this campaign spent over 280 hours sorting them.
I would like to thank everyone who visited us on the day of the final and added their coin! It is thanks to all these people that this huge golden heart was created! I think that every year the final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity is a day of happiness and joy. I am extremely proud of the members of my club, who were helping all day long, put a lot of work into it, and additionally shared positive energy with others and created a wonderful atmosphere that day. You can start collecting gold coins today and we’ll see you next year!
says Ania Antczak, coordinator of this year's "Let's Build a Heart Together" campaign”.
The campaign of the University of Lodz students has been very popular for years. Some residents of Lodz and the surrounding area collect gold coins all year round to add them to the "golden" heart. The campaign has been also distinguished by the TVN24 editors, who selected it as one of the 31 most interesting and most important events of the 31st Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity finale.
During all 14 editions of the project, the UL students have collected a total of over PLN 711,000 for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
We would like to thank everyone who has supported the action and offer our congratulations to the students from the Student Science Club "Inwestor"!
