All the first year (I cycle) students are obliged to choose the langugage they want to learn and the level they want to study. Mind you that you cannot learn a language from the beginning. You need to have A2/B1 level of language knowledge. Please read the letter from the Head of Foreign Languages Centre, do the level test and the come to the Students Service Centre (D4) to fill in your Language Declaration.
Starting from 30 October 2023, The diagnostic tests are available on the university platform for distance learning (https://moodle.uni.lodz.pl) as the courses called … Language Test [Test z języka …] To take the test, you should log into the platform and enroll for the course. Entrance key for The Faculty of Economics and Sociology is ES97.
The test should be done till 22 December 2023.
Please note! Diagnostic test is obligatory in academic year 2023/2024. You must do the test to enroll for the language class.
Students who have no Polish citizenship and study at the University are not entitled to choose their native language or the official language in the country of their residence

Applications for exemption from participation in the language course 9Appendix 3 or 4) with the opinion of the Foreign Language Center may be submitted to the Student Service Centre (room d4) not later then 15.01.2024.
The declaration of language choice (Appendix 1) should be made by filling in the questionnaire: - language declaration - Economics in English
The questionnaire must be completed by the deadline 22.12.2023.
Obtaining a qualification in a modern foreign language by the student in accordance with the requirements specified for the B2 level or higher on the basis of a language certificate included in the list of certificates confirming the knowledge of a modern foreign language at the 1st degree studies at the University of Lodz, is equivalent to passing the modern foreign language exam conducted at University of Lodz, on condition that the student has the language skills provided for in the Polish Qualifications Framework for a given level of education. In such cases, the course is credited by the dean of the faculty in agreement with the director of the Foreign Language Center of the University of Lodz.
